This movie was above my pay grade when it was released in '77, but I got to see it at my friend SK's house during the VHS era.
PS - still hold a grudge against my HS Brit Lit teacher (oof, we were so cruel to her, nicknaming her Morticia because she looked like Mrs Addams) who did not accept "drug-induced" as my answer for the exam question, "The Walrus and the Carpenter is what kind of poem?" Narrator: Todd was wrong. Anyway, happy birthday, Mr Dodgson.
PPS - got curious about my old teachers and having poked around a bit, I am sad to learn that my favorite ever, Mr Buckenburger, died just after Xmas. He nominated me for Student of the Week in 7th grade because I was a super go-getter in science. But I went through a little rough patch where I had difficulty with our unit self-tests (these weird scratch-off card things like lotto tickets), and was very demoralized. Mr B noticed that I clearly was starting with the right answers, then second-guessing myself and getting them wrong. So he told me something I have never forgotten: "always go with your first instinct." Never had trouble on MC tests - in science or otherwise - ever again. I pass on that nugget of wisdom to my learners that to this day. Godspeed, sir.
