I Don't Get It

Seriously, what's wrong with this statement?

I’m proud to be with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an e-mail that gets you going.  Every once in a while you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.’

This isn't inciting folks to bloody their opponents the way I read it.  It's simply a recapitulation of history.  Labor, Indian independence, Civil Rights...the nonviolent actionists did get into the streets and get bloody because reactionary forces bloodied them.  

To me, Capuano was making the same call to action I've made from time to time.  You gotta put skin in the game, and you can expect a little blood to flow.
